My father and I had information. Then I met some of my cousins that lived in South Carolina and we were told about all the Lloyd men. They moved all over the US and most of them had at least 2 families. Ask your father if anyone in his family came from South Carolina. My grandfather name is Will Lloyd and his father was a white slave owner named Tom Lloyd. I had my aunt's death certificate so I know that to be true.
julieetta528@yahoo.com is my email. we will have a lloyd family gathering for all LLoyds/lLoyds we're all related in one way or another according to the history of the Lloyd family.

In this powerful message Pastor Nichols teaches how to overcome in the conflict between the flesh and the spirit. It's a battle that is ongoing and when the Spirit is on top you have to "Kick the Flesh when it's down".

How to Encourage Yourself in the Lord
As Christians we must know that there will be times in our lives when we must encourage ourselves. In this powerful message Pastor Nichols gives 6 key requirements on how Christians are to encourage themselves in the Lord.
BIBLE BASIS: John 3: 1-8; 1 John 2: 28 and 1 John 3: 6.
Memory verse: 2 Corinthians 5: 17. “If any man be in Christ, he is a new creature; old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.”
Two major problems confront us in life. The problem of death, and the problem of guilt. Jesus’ teaching of the ‘New Birth”; the need to be “Born Again” (often called regeneration) provides our solution for both of these problems.
(1) THE PROBLEM OF DEATH. By nature all mankind is dead in “trespasses and sins” (Ephesians 2: 1). Spiritually we are dead, cut off from God by our sin. Only God can give us life; new life, eternal life, divine life.
NOTE: 1 Corinthians 15: 22.
(2) THE PROBLEM OF GUILT. By nature and by conduct all mankind is sinful: all have broken God’s law, and we stand condemned before Him.
NOTE: Romans 3: 10.
Only God, therefore, can remove the guilt of sin and replace it with the assurance of being members of His family – because we have been “born from above” into it.
JESUS SAID: “Ye must be born again”. HE WAS SPEAKING TO US ALL. Because of that, it is vital for us to consider . . .
1. THE MEANING OF IT.
Many people have the idea that man obtains everlasting life through his character and deeds. By “utilizing the wood of character and the nails of conduct, he seeks to construct a ladder to reach heaven”. This method will never succeed.
Eternal life must be given by God. It begins with an inward transformation (as we let God into our lives), not an outward resolution (just deciding to live better). NOTE: Titus 3: 4-5.
Salvation is given, not earned. It comes through regeneration, not reformation. Without it every person, no matter how kind or attractive or good he may be, IS DEAD – UTTERLY; devoid of the life of God. He has PHYSICAL life, but has no SPIRITUAL life.
NOTE: Romans 3: 20; Romans 6: 23; Ephesians 2: 8-9 and James 1: 18.
So a “new birth” is necessary. Our first birth is into our human family; a human birth by the breaking of the water receiving a physical life. Our second birth is into God’s family; a spiritual birth by which we receive God’s spiritual life. It comes about through faith in Jesus Christ – by allowing Him to come into our lives as Lord, Saviour and Master. “As many as receive Him, to them He gave the power to become the children of God” (John 1: 12). WE RECEIVE AND GOD REGENERATES.
2. THE MIRACLE OF IT.
But how does it take place? Jesus taught Nicodemus that two things are involved when a person is “born again” – water and the Spirit (John 3: 5).
(1) THE SPIRIT is the spirit of Jesus. God, in person as The Spirit, comes to dwell in our lives as we ask Him. His indwelling presence makes us God’s children and gives us eternal life.
(2) THE WATER does not refer to baptism – if it did, such verses as Romans 10: 9, John 1: 12, Ephesians 2: 9 and others would be misleading and wrong. Nicodemus replies to Christ’s statement with a question about physical birth and Christ takes him from physical, human birth by water to spiritual birth. Jesus said that it is essential to have a spiritual birth to receive spiritual life as it is to have a physical birth to receive physical life.
New, divine, eternal life becomes ours when the Spirit of God, speaking through the Word of God, leads us to the Son of God, and we accept Him as our Lord. Becoming a Christian, then, is truly a miracle: The Holy Spirit speaks, convicts and converts, regenerating us into God’s family.
3. THE MAGNITUDE OF IT.
The results of the “New Birth” are thrilling indeed . . .
(1) We are made children of God. All the resources of our heavenly Father are now available to us.
NOTE: John 1: 12. Galatians 3: 26. Romans 8: 16-17. and 1 John 3: 1.
(2) We become new persons “in Christ” because we are now “partakers of the divine nature”.
NOTE: Galatians 6: 15. Ephesians 2: 10 and 2 Peter 1: 4.
(3) This enables us to experience victory over the world – that is, to overcome the temptation of everything in the world that is opposed to God and godliness – to live day by day as children of the King of kings.
STUDY: 1 John 3: 9, 5: 4, 5: 18; Romans 8: 37 and Revelation 12: 11.
Just how far-reaching these results of our “new birth” are, we cannot begin to imagine! But we can begin to enjoy and appreciate them, and to thank God for them.
4. THE MEASURE OF IT.
Most Christians know the very hour that they were born again. Others, for whom coming to Christ in faith has been a more gradual process, cannot pinpoint the time. Others have been brought up gradually with born again parents. All have a DEFINATE ASSURANCE OF SALVATION.
EVERYONE CAN KNOW THAT HE OR SHE IS A CHILD OF GOD. . . .
(1) Because the bible promises it: “He that hath the Son hath life” (1 John 5: 12).
NOTE: John 5: 24. 1 John 5: 13.
(2) Because the indwelling Holy Spirit witnesses to it in our hearts.
NOTE: Romans 8: 16. 2 Timothy 1: 12. John 17: 3.
(3) Because of the change in life and attitude that he “a new man in Christ”.
As at birth a child enters a new sphere of existence, and must accept and master new conditions; so the one who is “reborn” enters a new realm of life. Doubtful things which he once relished and enjoyed he now hates and shuns. He has a new purpose in life, and a new set of values. He has a new name, for he bears the name of his Saviour – HE IS A CHRISTIAN.
